Dr. Stavia Turyahabwe is the Assistant Commissioner of the National TB & Leprosy Program (NTLP) and serves as an Ex-officio Member of Uganda Stop TB Partnership (USTP). With her extensive experience in public health and TB control, Dr. Turyahabwe plays a critical role in shaping Uganda’s national response to TB and leprosy. Her leadership within the NTLP ensures that TB control efforts are aligned with national health priorities, and she brings this expertise to USTP’s collaborative work to strengthen the TB response across the country.
Responsibilities
- Policy and Strategic Leadership: Leading the implementation of the National TB & Leprosy Program’s strategies and policies, ensuring they align with global TB goals and best practices.
- Program Coordination: Overseeing the national coordination of TB control programs, working closely with USTP and other stakeholders to ensure effective program delivery.
- Advocacy and Stakeholder Engagement: Representing the NTLP in various forums, engaging with government, civil society, and international partners to secure support for TB control efforts.
- Collaboration with USTP: Providing technical expertise and guidance to USTP in its advocacy, resource mobilization, and community mobilization activities, helping ensure alignment with national TB strategies.
